About the event
In this Artisan Soap Making Class, owners Kevin and Michael Douglas-Smith will explain and demonstrate the basic chemistry, safety precautions and materials used when making cold process soap from scratch. You will then create and pour (under a controlled environment) cold-process soap batter, customize it with natural colorants and decorate it with special textures. You will be working with a mixture of pure olive oil, shea butter and coconut oil. You will also be working with turmeric, local honey and an orange essential oil.
Handcrafted soap has to harden for 24 hours; so before you take them home, you can either come back in 1-2 days to slice your 4 bars of soap or we can slice your soap for you to pick up. We can also slice your soap and ship them to you. Price of the class does not include shipping.
